PLAN BEFORE YOU BUY
Build around your space.
A setup works best when the desk, controls and accessories fit how you actually use it. These are planning considerations, not product test results or a guarantee that any particular combination fits.
Start with the desk you have
Measure usable width and depth, including anything that occupies the rear edge. Set those dimensions in the builder, then place the monitor, keyboard and mousepad before adding accessories. Leave room for cables and normal movement. An object that fits inside the tabletop outline can still overlap another item or obstruct access.
A compact case can free floor space, but it consumes desk depth and needs ventilation and cable clearance. For example, the Fractal Terra has a different footprint from the taller, slimmer Ridge. Check the manufacturer installation instructions; the preview does not model required airflow clearance or a completed PC's weight.
Choose a keyboard layout for your routine
A 60% board removes dedicated clusters and relies more on key combinations. A 75% or TKL layout retains more dedicated controls but takes more width. Compare the Wooting 60HE+, Keychron K2 HE and Wooting 80HE by their actual layout and dimensions. Decide which keys you use for work and games before choosing by appearance. Neither size nor a magnetic switch alone establishes better performance for your use.
Plan the mouse area as a pair
The mouse and pad share the same space. Place the mouse over the pad in the builder, then reserve the movement area you use at your sensitivity. The preview will not infer that area or prevent a microphone base from occupying it. Compare mouse shape, width, weight and connection type; hand comfort is personal and cannot be verified from a render.
Check an arm before removing a stand
A monitor arm can reclaim a stand's footprint, but check the display's mounting pattern and weight, the arm's supported range, desk material, clamp clearance and manufacturer restrictions. The same applies to microphone weight, thread adapters and boom reach. The builder connects the selected objects visually; it does not certify the combination.
Start from a pro setup
A player’s gear can be a useful research starting point. Review the cited source and reported date, then check which exact products can be added to the builder. Unmapped equipment is left out. Your planning dimensions and placement are editable and do not represent the player’s actual room or desk. Choose sensitivity, seating and positioning for your own comfort.
Finish with a shopping list
Open the builder's shopping list to review each exact product and variant. Confirm included accessories, seller, condition, shipping, return terms and the final checkout total. Save a PNG to compare the look and export the JSON layout to keep an editable copy. A complete-looking scene is not a complete bill of materials: cables, adapters, a computer's internal components and generic accessories may be absent.
